Hello, all! I am starting up my weekly list again. I think next week I will publish earlier due to registration requirements. Hopefully, we will heading in the direction where there are more events. It will be VERY cold this weekend, so please be cautious and check on the status of any outdoor events.

Ongoing Events:

February 1-28 Winter Wonderland at Canal Shores -- a local art event in Evanston that gets everyone engaged in creating and exploring! There are special demos on Saturdays at the fire pit, so check those out.  Check out how you can contribute as well. I am personally adding to this exhibition and can't wait!

February 4 - Ongoing Naper Settlement is back open to the public including viewing the Women: Waves of Change exhibit. Naper Settlement is currently open Tuesdays - Fridays 10AM-4PM, $5 pp, must register ahead.

Saturday, February 6

February 6 Walk and Talk: Des Plaines River, Camp Ground Road Woods, 10AM-11AM, less than a 2 mile walk, free but must register, must wear masks

February 6 Explore Thatcher Woods, River Forest, 11AM-2PM, grab a self guided  nature activity, go on a hike and take home a nature craft kit, free

February 6 From Sand Ridge to Freedom Road, Facebook Live, 1:30PM, learn how the Michigan City Road Line formed and its role in the Underground Railroad, free

February 6 & 7 Farm Life in Winter, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM-3:30PM, learn about work on the farm in winter and even help, masks required, free

Febuary 6 Virtual Class: Dig Into Fossils, Lizzadro Museum, Oak Brook, 2PM-3PM, must register, $20 per person, must pick up pack before class

February 6 Free Guided Nature Walk, The Grove, Glenview, 2PM, must register, must wear face mask, call 224-521-2101 to register 

Sunday, February 7

February 7 Hibernation or Migration, 10AM-11AM, virtual program through Lake County Forest Preserves, must register for Zoom link, $3

February 7 Winter Photo Walk, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 10:30AM or 1:30PM, bring along a camera or phone for a fun adventure, must register, masks required

February 7 Show Stream from Jamlab at School of Rock in Libertyville, 12:30PM-6:30PM, Facebook Live, free

February 7 Meet a Bee Keeper, Plum Creek Nature Center, Crete, 12:30PM-2:30PM, geared towards those 18 and over, free, must wear mask and maintain social distancing, free, check out the other winter offerings
