Dunn Museum in Libertyville is back open, please reserve timed ticket, learn about the history and natural history of Lake County, enjoy special exhibits as well, admission fee

Ongoing Naper Settlement is back open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10AM-4PM,, Sundays 1PM-4PM, adults $10 pp, seniors 62+  $8, kids ages 4-12 $7, Naperville residents (with proof of residency), children under 4 and Naper Settlement Members are free, must register ahead.

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Book a Tour of The Grove Interpretive Center, Glenview, $2 for residents, $ 5 for non, 10AM-2PM, groups limited to 25, children under 2 are free, meet all of the resident animals and learn about Robert Kennicott, must register online, tours are 45 minutes

Through June 6 Simply Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Nicholas Conservatory, Rockford, enjoy viewing live butterflies flying in the conservatory and learn about their life cycle, $9 per adult, $7per child or senior, must pre-register

It's Showtime: Spring 2021 at Chicago Botanic Gardens, enjoy spring come alive at Chicago Botanic Gardens this spring as flowers begin to bloom, the gardens will now be open until 7PM, must reserve a time for your visit, parking is $25 per car week days and $30 on weekends, free for members

Art for The Earth 2021 with Evanston Made, create Earth friendly nature art in Evanston and share with hashtage #evanstonmade or #evanstonartconnects 

Mid-April-Mid May Richardson Farm Tulip Festival, Spring Grove, weather dependent, purchase tickets online, $15 single day Sat or Sun, $12 Mon-Fri

April 24-25 Make a Pendant for Mother's Day, Peter Patterson Glassworks, Mundelein, 10AM-4PM, $35, must make an appointment, call 847-949-0013

April 24 & 25 Story Trail and Craft, Trailside, River Forest, 9AM-4PM, follow the story trail near the museum, pop inside to pick up the craft to finish the journey, free, must wear  masks and distance

April 24 Nature Walk, McDowell Grove, Naperville, 9AM or 11AM, $5 pp, must pre-register, must wear masks and social distance

April 24 Nature Scavenger Hunt, Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, Elgin, 10AM-12PM, will be posted online or you can pick up at the center, free

April 24 & 25 Stuart Kite Festival, Montgomery, 10AM-4PM, Stuart Sports Complex, demos, instruction and more, kits for purchase

April 24 Party for the Planet, Brookfield Zoo

April 24 Volo Bog Tour, Ingleside, 12PM or 2PM, free but you must register, must wear masks and social distance

April 24 Ribbit, Croak or Chirp: Frogs and Their Calls, Facebook Live via Crabtree Nature Center, 10AM, free, learn to identify our frogs by sight or sound

April 24 Riverview Farmstead Tour, Naperville, 1PM-2:30PM, free, for ages 12 and up, must register, must wear masks and social distance

April 24 & 25  The Progressive Farm: A Barnyard Tour, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, learn about farming towards the end of the 19th century, costumed interpreter, free but tours are limited to 10 people, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, masks and social distancing required 

April 24 Evening Woodcock Walk -- Virtual, through Forest Preserve District of Lake County, 7:15PM-8:30PM, free but must register for link

Sunday, April 25

April 25 Celebration Earth Day, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 12PM-3PM, create a native animal out of recycled items, learn how to go greener in cleaning, pick up materials for cleaning a park and prepare a native plant for your garden, free, must wear  masks and distance

April 25 Going on Gnome Hunt, Trailside, River Forest, 12PM-4PM, look for the gnomes living at Trailside, free, must wear  masks and distance

April 25 Earth Day Celebration, Emily Oaks Nature Center, Skokie, 12PM-4PM, meet the plants and animals of Emily Oaks, learn facts, purchase native plants, free timed entry --must register for tickets
