The weekend is around the corner! I have rounded up my favorites for family fun this weekend. Take a peek:

Ongoing

Dunn Museum in Libertyville is back open, please reserve timed ticket, learn about the history and natural history of Lake County, enjoy special exhibits as well, admission fee

Ongoing Naper Settlement is back open to the public Tuesdays - Saturdays 10AM-4PM,, Sundays 1PM-4PM, adults $10 pp, seniors 62+  $8, kids ages 4-12 $7, Naperville residents (with proof of residency), children under 4 and Naper Settlement Members are free, must register ahead. Also, visit the new Answering the Call: Naperville at War exhibit focusing on WWII.

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Book a Tour of The Grove Interpretive Center, Glenview, $2 for residents, $ 5 for non, 10AM-2PM, groups limited to 25, children under 2 are free, meet all of the resident animals and learn about Robert Kennicott, must register online, tours are 45 minutes

Through June 6 Simply Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Nicholas Conservatory, Rockford, enjoy viewing live butterflies flying in the conservatory and learn about their life cycle, $9 per adult, $7per child or senior, must pre-register

Mid-April-Mid May Richardson Farm Tulip Festival, Spring Grove, weather dependent, purchase tickets online, $15 single day Sat or Sun, $12 Mon-Fri

April 22 - May 2 Earth Day Adventure, Scavenger Hunt with Palatine Park District, Free

May 1-16 Lilac Time at Lilacia Park in Lombard, Lilac Store featuring lilac items, Lilac Heritage tours $7 pp -- must register

Saturday, May 1

May 1-2 Make a Pendant for Mother's Day, Peter Patterson Glassworks, Mundelein, 10AM-4PM, $35, must make an appointment, call 847-949-0013, please wear masks

May 1 Arbor Day Celebration, Bunker Hill, Niles, 10AM-12PM, enjoy tree id hikes, scavenger hunts and more, free, must maintain distancing and wear masks

May 1 Yoga in the Park with Hop Along Kids Yoga, Klehm Park, Arlington Heights, 10AM, geared towards families with kids ages 2-6 but all are welcome, register online, $9

May 1 Go Fly a Kite with Stan's Donuts, Graf Park, Wheaton, 10AM-12PM, enjoy time outdoors flying a kite, free

May 1 & 2 Guided Tours of Volo Bog, Ingleside, 12PM or 2PM, must register by calling 815-344-1294, masks and distancing required, limited number

May 1 Lotton Art Glass Open House, Crete, 10AM-5PM, see live glassblowing, visit with artists, see new creations, please wear masks and social distance

May 1-2 The Progressive Farm: A Barnyard Tour, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM, learn about farming towards the end of the 19th century, costumed interpreter, free but tours are limited to 10 people, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, masks and social distancing required 

May 1 Zoology Club: Snakes, Facebook Live via Little Red Schoolhouse, 1:30PM, free

Sunday, May 2

May 2 Living History Encounter: Wool, Isle a la Cache, Romeoville, 12PM-3PM, spring is shearing time for sheep, so be prepared to learn all things wool, free, craftsmen or voyageurs may be there, must wear masks and social distance

May 2 Flower Walk, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, free but must register, call 847-381-6592, must physically distance and wear masks
