Fall is in the air and their are plenty of ways to explore this weekend! Oktoberfests, scarecrows, pumpkin fun, local artist studio tours, a pooch parade and more will make this weekend fun in the 'burbs! Check out my picks:

Ongoing:

May 8 - October 10 Model Railroad Garden open at Chicago Botanic Garden, Adults: $8, Seniors: $7, Children (3 – 12): $6 Children (2 and under): Free Members receive $1 off each price Garden Plus members get in free on Wednesdays, tickets are at ticket booth in front of exhibit and have timed entry, must also reserve time to visit gardens and purchase parking online, parking: $25 per weekday, $30 on weekends

Ongoing Human + Nature at Morton Arboretum, Lisle, stunning natural sculptures to help connect people with trees, the exhibition includes 5 incredible sculptures, included with normal admission

September 11 - November 7 Richardson Corn Maze, Spring Grove, try weaving through the World's Largest Corn Maze and enjoy fall farm fun, open Thursdays-Sundays and Columbus Day, see website for hours and prices

October 1-3 Oktoberfest at Buffalo Creek Brewing, Long Grove, biergarten, live music, traditional Oktoberfest games

October 1-3 NAMI DuPage Oktoberfest, DuPage Fairgrounds, Wheaton, car show, carnival, kids activities, food trucks and more, $5 admission

October 2

October 2 The Grove Fall Fest, Glenview, tree walks, house tours, storytimes, crafts and more. Some activities require registration

October 2 & 3 Pumpkin Weekends, Blackberry Farm, Aurora, PumpkinWeekends on Blackberry Farm treat families to pumpkin fun while visiting the farm. Enjoy a pumpkin patch and pumpkin-themed activities. Purchase tickets online. Pumpkin Weekends are held on weekends in October and Columbus Day.

October 3 Ah, Nuts! Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, learn about common nuts found on the trail and hunt for more on a .5 mile hike, free. must register
