Ongoing Tour the Frank Lloyd Wright House and Studio during the holidays: Every year, the Oak Park home of the famous architect is decked out with period decorations for the holidays. The tree is absolutely not to be missed! Be sure to reserve your tour online. Tours are $20 per person.

Ongoing Visit Oak Park Conservatory for a warm-weather escape and brilliant blooms without leaving the 'burbs. Admission is free, donations are appreciated. While in the area check out the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio and other Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

Ongoing through February Farnsworth House Quiet Season Tours, on weekends, $25 pp, $12 for military members, see website for times and to reserve tickets

February 1-28 Chicago's North Shore Restaurant Month -- enjoy special deals from a select group of fantastic Chicago's North Shore restaurants during the month of February.`(Excludes Valentine's Day)

February 1-28 Winter Wonderland at Canal Shores in Evanston with Evanston Made and Downtown Evanston, contribute to this immersive art experience by making your own nature art, 3PM-5PM Saturdays enjoy the sunset at the firepit and see the beautiful local art 

February 5 - May 29 Houses of Tomorrow: Solar Homes from Keck to Today, Elmhurst Art Museum, Keck's Glass House of Tomorrow designed for the 1933 World's Fair was the first in the USA and groundbreaking in terms of solar energy, learn about his designs and others taking into account sustainable practices, advanced ticket purchase required, $15 per adult, $12 per senior, kids are free 

February 12 - March 27 The Orchid Show, Chicago Botanic Garden, be dazzled by displays of stunning wild orchids, ticket prices vary, see website for ticketing details

February 19 S'more Winter Fun, Fullersburg Woods, Oak Brook, 10AM-3PM, warm up by the fire and make some s'mores, $5 pp, $10 to rent snowshoes, must register

February 19 Rock and Mineral Identification Class, Lizzadro Museum, Oakbrook, 10:30AM, ages 8 and older, $20, must register

February 19 & 20 Farmlife in Winter, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 1:30PM-3:30PM, a variety of winter farm activities including harvesting ice, free

February 19 & 20 Winter Chilly Fest, Emily Oaks Nature Center, Skokie, 5PM-8PM, walk through a magically lighted woodland on a story quest looking for the treasure tree, $8 pp, must register

Sunday, February 20

February 20 Winter's Wild Walk, River Trail, Nature Center, Northbrook, 1PM -- starts at 1:30pm if not enough snow for snowshoes, call ahead for snow conditions, registration required

Monday, February 21

February 21 Special President's Day Tour at the Dawes House, Evanston, 1PM, learn about Charles Dawes -- Coolidge's VP, one tour -- limited room, $10 per adult, $5 per child
