Happy almost weekend! I am excited for this weekend -- we get to fall back on Sunday! If you are looking forward to the weekend like I am, here are some of my favorite opportunities for fun this weekend:

October 15 - November 6 Sugar Skull City, Aurora, downtown storefronts will be decorated by local artists, scavenger hunt

Friday, November 4

November 4 Stews & Brews, The Lot, Highland Park, 5PM-9PM, enjoy an array of cold weather favorites -- soups, goulash, pot pies, coffees, hot chocolates, hot toddies and more from local restaurants, cast a vote for your favorite, live music, free admission

November 4 Dia de Muertos, Elgin, Heritage Ballroom, Centre of Elgin, 5PM-7PM, performances, arts and crafts, Community Altar, resources for seniors, and more

Saturday, November 5

November 5-6 Make Glass Pumpkins, Patterson Glass, Mundelein, $45 small, $75 large, $95 blown, please reserve space

November 5-6 Guided Tours of Volo Bog, Ingleside, 11AM and 1PM, free, registration requested but not required

November 5-6 Tractor Drawn Wagon Rides, Danada, Wheaton, 1, 1:45, 2:30, $5 pp

November 5 Photo Scavenger Hunt, Trailside Museum of Natural History, River Forest, 1:30PM, enjoy a campfire afterward, free but must register

Sunday, November 6

November 6 Dog Admission Day at Morton Arboretum, Lisle, visit with your favorite pup, regular admission applies and dog admission is $5 per dog, must reserve timed entry admission online

November 6 GPS Scavenger Hunt, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, a technology-inspired scavenger hunt, 11AM, 12:30PM and 2PM, must register, free

November 6 Harvest Time in 1858, Historic Powers-Walker House, Ringwood, 12PM-4PM, learn about harvest time in the 1850s, try your hand at historical activities, watch cavalry demos, tour the farmhouse, free
