Happy Weekend! Friday is Bastille Day, so I hope you can include some French flair into your weekend! There is plenty going on this weekend, here are my picks:

February 4-December 23 Viking's Voyage, Geneva History Museum, learn about the history of the replica Viking ship in Geneva which started as an attraction at the World's Columbian Exhibition in 1893, $5 per adult, $2 kids and seniors, free for members, closed Sundays and Mondays

May 2 - November 3 Infrastructure: Creating 19th Century Clothing Then and Now, exhibit starts with the fabric scrapbook of Hannah Ditzler Asplaugh. Her memories of creating and recreating 19th century clothing over 50 years inspired the exhibit.  Explore the connection of clothing and memory as well as how the fashions were made then and now. See website for hours and admission.

May 6-July 31 Superheroes in Wilder Park, Elmhurst, 8 life-sized superhero sculptures by local artists, free

May 27-September 4 Find Your Wild with McHenry County Conservation District, all summer use an app to explore the county's fabulous preserves, engage in fun nature activities, answer trivia questions and win prizes! This is a fun outdoor adventure that you can enjoy throughout summer and it is free!

June 2-August 20 Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross, Elmhurst Art Museum, sketches, life-sized busts, cover art and more highlight one of the greatest comic book artists, please see website for admission info and associated events

June 3-September 10 WARHOL, Cleve Carney Museum of Art, Glen Ellyn, an incredible 94 pieces by Andy Warhol will be on display during this exhibition, there are many associated events to experience, see website for ticketing and more information, I will have more on this event soon!

June 3-September 10 Where's Warhol Scavenger Hunt and Pop Art Photo Ops, downtown Wheaton, free events celebrating College of DuPage's Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop exhibition, free

Through September 16 Peck Farm Butterfly House, Geneva, see website for hours, suggested donation

Sunday, July 16

July 16 Voyage en France, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM-4PM, celebrate Cantigny's special connection with Cantigny, France, enjoy special French sights and sounds, plein air artists, street performers and more, learn about soldiers in France in WWI at the First Division Museum, $15 parking per adult, $12 per senior, children under 15 free

July 16 FanCon 2023, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 12PM-5PM, artists alley, tournaments, crafts, and more, free but must register

July 16 Bug-a-palooza, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, learn about the diversity of insects and catch and release them, free
