Lightscape at Chicago Botanic Garden has rapidly become a very cherished holiday event over the past five years. The striking light arrangements combine movement, sound and nature -- yes, nature! -- to craft magical displays. Wandering the trails of the Chicago Botanic Garden as lights, movement, and music ignite the landscape offers the perfect experience to launch the holiday season while adding magic to those cold, winter nights!
Every year, Chicago Botanic Garden's Lightscape weaves old favorite displays, reimagined displays, and new displays into the Chicago holiday light show. This year's new displays include Lilies by UK artist Jigantics: Illuminated crafting a mesmerizing view from the bridge of delicate lilies with a warm glow, Sea of Light by UK artist Ithaca featuring balls of light making Evening Island glow with intriguing patterns set to music, and Nightlights by French artist TILT transforming a portion of the path with delicate, lampshade shaped lights at 19-feet high.

Returning displays include the Winter Cathedral and a reimagined Fire Garden which both have been highlights since the first Lightscape. My absolute favorite each year is in fact the Fire Garden, so I am excited to see the new interpretation. I just love the art of dancing flames.

Lightscape presents a truly spectacular Chicago holiday light show. Every year winding along the trails of the Chicago Botanic Garden we are both surprised and delighted by each display as it emerges from around the bend. The show offers immersive experiences incorporating light and sound. Each portion highlights nature with a renewed vision inspiring in a unique way only captured during Lightscape! Such a fabulous event to add to your holiday season/early winter adventures!
