Lightscape at Chicago Botanic Garden heralded the beginning of the 2023 holiday season this week with an invigorated illuminated trail winding through magical light displays. This year's light extravaganza wove together old favorites, reimagined designs, and new stunning pieces. Every year, Lightscape gets bigger and more enchanting!

The festive light designs of Lightscape captivated us immediately as we embarked on the trail. This year's rendition truly seemed to have lights and music at every corner. I truly appreciate the engaging nature of Lightscapes displays which have you eager to experience creation after creation.

| Wind Seeds dazzles as unique colors continuously blend and morph. |
Soon, we discovered "Wind Seeds" which appeared reminiscent of delicate origami structures. Yet, each easily could have been a spiked seed ready to fly away. The flow of colors of each seed changing smoothly mesmerized.

This year, Lightscape did a fantastic job of highlighting Chicago Botanic Garden's water features. First, as you wind on the illuminated trail you note light displays across the water -- with reflected lights dancing. Another spot across the pond featuring moving lights that looking like Northern Lights to me!
Need a nibble? Food opportunities are available throughout including a s'mores stations, holiday treats, and fun nibbles. The main eatery area sports stations with favorite noshes including pizza, sliders, tacos, and Italian beef. Holiday fun beverages are also available.

"Lilies" by UK artist Jigantics steals the show! As we wound along a boardwalk bridge, we peered over the side to see delicate waterlilies dancing with changing lights floating on the water. Willows draping over the water added to the scene.
Get ready to pose! This year's show has a fun selfie area full of glowing shapes!!!
Another highlight featured tentacles tipped with crystal-like orbs. Truly beautiful -- especially when set against a tree full brilliant red berries. The blending of nature with the displays truly is one of the strongest points of Lightscape.

| Winter Cathedral crafts the perfect end to a magical experience. |
In addition to the new experiences, Lightscape folds in some old favorites and reimagined designs. "Winter Cathedral" returns and ushers in a triumphant end to the enchanting evening!

This year's Lightscape runs November 10, 2023 - January 7, 2024. Lightscape has sold out every year, so I would definitely plan on purchasing tickets now so you can reserve your visit to this incredible holiday show.
