Sugar Maple Tapping Season Descends on Chicagoland

It is that time of year again---birds are chirping, days are longer, and maple trees are ready to be tapped.  There are a number of maple tapping events throughout the area over the next couple of weeks.  Here are a few that I have found:

March 11 1-4PM Maple Sugaring Days at Naper Settlement in Naperville, $9 adults, $8 seniors, $6.50 kids

March 11&18 12-4PM Get Sticky! Maple Syrup Sundays Fullersburg Woods Nature Eduction Center Oak Brook, Free!

March 17 9AM-1PM MapleFest , Red Oak Nature Center in North Aurora, Free!

March 17-18 9AM-12PM Sugar Bush Fair, Spring Valley Nature Center, Schaumburg, Breakfast $4 half stack of pancakes, $5 full stack, admission Free!

March 18 11AM-3PM Maple Syrup Festival, River Trails Nature Center, Northbrook, Free!

March 24-25 10AM-3PM Maple Syrup Festival, North Park Village Nature Center, Chicago, Free!

I have never been to a maple syrup festival before but it sounds like fun!
