Madame ZuZu's Tea Shop and Art Studio {Date Night}

**Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

A couple weeks ago my husband and I had a night out. We both enjoy tea, so we thought that we would check out Madame ZuZu's in Highland Park for a little relaxation. We visited on a nice summer night and enjoyed the ambiance of Highland Park as diners assembled to eat outdoors at some of the neighboring restaurants.

The interior of Madame ZuZu's has a very artsy yet relaxed environment inviting guests to sit and unwind for awhile. When you first enter, you are greeted by lovely desserts and temptations, all well displayed. There are also other foodie delights like a nice array of chocolates. (I am not partial to a bit of cacao at all.) If you are looking for something a little more substantial to nosh on, Madame ZuZu's does have sandwiches as well. Vegan and gluten free options are available.

After perusing the sweet options, we just had to pick some even though we stopped in for tea! So, a chocolate chip cookie and a blondie were needed. We also ordered tea from a well-rounded loose leaf tea menu. Samples of the tea are available for you to sniff, thus helping in selection. My husband ordered the Earl Grey Crema and I ordered the Emperor's Sword of Samurai Gyokoru. The pastry delights were high quality and we really enjoyed the treats! We enjoyed the tea as well and had a pleasant time savoring the adventure.

Madame ZuZu's is owned by Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. He has done a fabulous job of creating a community spot to just relax and be in the moment. In addition to being a place for a bit of a respite, Madame ZuZu's is an interesting place to peruse with unique decor elements as well as art, tea items and more for sale. The tea house hosts music, comedy and poetry events from time to time as well. A real place where people can come together! We found it to be a nice little haven when you need some time to unwind and treat yourself!

    1. It is a wonderful treasure! Of course, anywhere you can get freshly steeped loose leaf tea already has a plus in my book! Have a nice weekend!
