Ok, so, I am not a big Giada fan. Something about her face bothers me and she just seems to be too put together to be a chef. When cooking, I am all about the mess! Working yourself into a frenzy that results in a great meal provides such a rush! Anyway, while scouting out simple, vegetarian recipes, I ran across an easy pasta recipe using some of my favorite ingredients---sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and basil---and it so happened that it is one of Giada's recipes. Despite my probably unfair aversion to all things Giada, I decided to try Giada's recipe. The recipe definitely delivered! It was easy and had great flavor. The only criticism I have is it may have had a little too much garlic. Garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh basil are all heavy hitters, so, at times, it did taste like they were fighting each other for the spotlight. If I make the recipe again, I will probably not put in the full amounts of each ingredient to start with and will try to tinker more with the amounts. Additionally, I am going to try adding some different ingredients. This time, I added artichokes. They were a nice addition. Next time, I may add either spinach or asparagus. All in all, it is a great recipe that can easily be tweaked according to your particular taste.
