A Little Time and a Keyboard: The South Bend Chocolate Company: a rest area treat

The South Bend Chocolate Company: a rest area treat

Saturday, March 30, 2013

We travel through Northern Indiana from time to time on trips to visit family out East. Whenever we do, we like to stop at rest areas that have The South Bend Chocolate Company counters. As we all know, road travel can be a little boring. However, when you stumble on a rest area with a full candy counter, your trip quickly becomes a little more exciting!

One of the great things about The South Bend Chocolate Company other than their delectable temptations is that the chocolate factory is in South Bend, Indiana. So, when you are having a sweet treat, you are really having a taste of Indiana. When we travel, we really like to experience something of the region if possible. You can't get an easier way to do this than buying some chocolate at a rest area.

Look at the beautiful candy counter:

Can you believe that we found this in a rest area! What a delicious surprise!

Here are our treats (dark chocolate almonds and a dark chocolate caramel):

If you are in the South Bend area, you can visit the chocolate factory itself. I am sure that many kiddoes--big and small--would love to visit. The rest area South Bend Chocolate Company counters are indicated on rest area signs, so you will know when to stop!
