April Degustabox full of foodie goodies

This month's Degustabox was packed full of so many interesting products! Each month, I eagerly await my box to see what treats I get to experience. Here is a run down of what I received this month:

  • Nando's PERi-PERi Sauce
  • Lovely Candy Caramels
  • PR Bar
  • Mutti Tomato Paste
  • Better Oats
  • Skinnygirl
  • Wilton Caramel Drizzles
  • Bush's Chickpeas & Hummus Mix
  • Wild Planet Canned Organic Chicken
  • Chiridos Snack Chips
Making Hummus with Bush's Chick Peas and Hummus Mix

I immediately was intrigued by the mix your own hummus by Bush's. We used to make hummus on our own but lately have been opting for pre-made hummus from the store. So, receiving the ingredients was the incentive I needed to make my own hummus! I happen to love tomato hummus, so I jumped at the chance to add in the tomato paste as well.

Blending the ingredients for tomato hummus

Having the tahini and spices already portioned out and mixed was handy. I rinsed the chickpeas and put them along with the tahini mix and some tomato paste into the food processor. Just blend to desired consistency and then voila! Tomato paste can be added to taste. Easy and yummy!

I was also thrilled to see the Better Oats individual steel cut oatmeal packs. The individually portioned packages include brown sugar and maple. The packages give multiple ways for heating up your perfect bowl of oatmeal. I added some freeze dried strawberries to mine and yum!

Of course, I could not resist trying the Lovely Caramels. Lovely crafts its candy delights with pure and simple ingredients -- so no artificial flavors! Lovely's caramel definitely tastes fresh and has a bit of fluff to it. Simple is best!

I also tried the Wild Planet Canned Organic Chicken. The chicken along with spinach and mayo made for the perfect salad for lunch. The chicken was of high quality. I have been phobic about canned chicken in the past, but I was impressed by Wild Planet. Plus, the chicken is free range and organic.
