  • July 29 Fan Con, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 10AM-2PM, please register, please see schedule, no card needed
  • July 29-30 Military Through the Ages, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM-4PM, encampments representing armies throughout history starting with Roman, free with $10 parkin
  • July 29 Country Farm Fair, Wildwood Nature Center, Park Ridge, 12PM-3PM, petting zoo, $.50 hayride, $5 pony rides, games and more, free admission
  • July 29 German Beer Garden, Volkening Heritage Farm, Schaumburg, 4PM-7PM, last call 7PM, German music, pretzels, craft beer, backyard games, bring a picnic, $5 pp includes free glass and pretzel, kids 3 and under are free
  • Also Lake County Fair and Greek Fest.
Sunday, July 30:
  • July 30 International Bog Day, Volo Bog, Ingleside, 12PM-4PM, bog tours, kids crafts, art show, meet bog dogs and more, $5 pp for adults, $3 for kids
  • July 30 Habitat Hike, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, join a 1.5 mile guided hike looking at habitats, free
  • July 30 Bug-a-palooza, River Trail, Northbrook,1:30PM, learn about diversity of insects, free
  • Also Lake County Fair, Military Through the Ages and Greek Fest.
