- August 5 Community Pack Walk, Palatine, tour Closer Bond's new facility and walk Reimer Reserve, 10AM-11AM, refreshments
- August 5-6 Art at the Glen, The Glen, Glenview, 10AM-5PM
- August 5-6 Fairy Festival, Vasa Park, South Elgin, 10AM-7PM Sat, 10AM-5PM Sun, activities, entertainment and more, $10 per person
- August 5-6 Festival of the Arts, Cook Park, Libertyville, 10AM-5PM
- August 5 Dog Days at Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM -4PM, dog performances, vendors, kids crafts, dog adoptions and more, may bring well behaved dogs with proof of vaccination, free with $10 parking, some activities have a fee

- August 6 Summer in the Woods, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, summer nature walk with a naturalist, free
