  • August 5 Dog Days at Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM -4PM, dog performances, vendors, kids crafts, dog adoptions and more, may bring well behaved dogs with proof of vaccination, free with $10 parking, some activities have a fee
  • August 5 Kite Fest, Elmhurst, Berens Park, 11AM-2PM, performance, candy drop and more, see schedule

  • August 5 Main Street Dessert Walk, Libertyville, 12PM-3PM, $15 pp, can by tickets online
  • August 5 National Night Out, North Park, Lincolnshire, 5PM, interaction with police, inflatable water slides, check out the flight for life helicopter, puppy rescue, food trucks, carnival games and more, free

  • August 6 Malott Japanese Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, 11AM-4PM, hands on activities, free, parking is $30 per car
  • August 6 Bugapalooza, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, explore insects with activities and crafts, free
  • August 6 Build a Better World Pop In, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 1:00PM-3:00PM, work on graffiti art with an artist to add to our neighborhood display, free, drop in
  • August 6  Summer in the Woods, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, summer nature walk with a naturalist, free
  • Also, Festival of Arts, Art and Soul on the Fox, Festival of the Arts, Fairy Festival, Art at the Glen, Destination Asia and McHenry County Fair.
