Geneva Lake Views Fuel a Tranquil Day in Williams Bay, Wisconsin

Geneva Lake Views Fuel a Tranquil Day in Williams Bay, Wisconsin

Quietly nestled along Geneva Lake in Wisconsin, Williams Bay treats visitors to tranquil lake views and a quaint town to explore.Williams Bay is more relaxed than nearby Lake Geneva, so we love to visit for a calm day of relaxation on the lake.

When my daughter was younger, we spent quite a few peaceful mornings reposing at the public beach at Williams Bay. The beach has life guards and a changing facility which is very convenient for families. Everything is well marked. There is a little pier for jumping off which is a fun element. Overall, this is one of my favorite beaches for families particularly those with real little ones. There is a fee, but I feel it is well worth it.

Adjacent to the beach is a green space with plenty of room to spread out. On our recent visit, we enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch under a shade tree. The nice playground abuts against the lake and provides another avenue of summer fun for kids.

Near the beach there also are some nice shaded alcoves for relaxing and taking a break from the sun.

Of course, one of my favorite experiences of each visit to Williams Bay is enjoying the views of Geneva Lake.

Visiting Town:

Our visits also include a wander through town. We love to stop in the Green Grocer which has some light grocery options featuring organic produce including locally grown when it is in season. Additionally, Green Grocer crafts gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads. Quite the perfect spot to pick up something special for a picnic! Additionally, Green Grocer is home to diverse wines -- with periodic tastings -- and local beer. You will also find some locally crafted items in store as well. Green Grocer is a nice little spot to visit and the historic building it is housed in adds to the charm.

Dip in the Bay and other eateries in the downtown area are worth exploring. Dip in the Bay is a family owned ice cream parlor with a large selection of ice cream.

Hiking Along a Boardwalk:

While visiting William's Bay, also take some time to explore the Kishwauketoe Trail and walk along the boardwalk through wetland and on to the prairie. A serene walk in nature is just what we needed during our family day away from it all.

We found Kishwauketoe Trail to be beautiful and a wonderful location for birding. The emerald green hues throughout certainly enticed us to walk further. I could have walked through the trails quite a few times!

Savoring Geneva Lake views in Williams Bay, Wisconsin

Our days in Williams Bay are always full of serenity. We are enamored with Williams Bay's perch on Geneva Lake and its calmness relative to Lake Geneva. Visits to Williams Bay are full of sparkling lake views and slow moments of absorbing it all. Just the getaway we need!

**Note: Currently, Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay is closed. However, I am hopeful it will reopen. The historic structure is interesting to tour and should be on your list should it reopen.
