Highwood Virtual Trivia Tour Adds An Extra Fun Spin to Supporting Local

**The second edition of the Highwood Virtual Trivia Tour has started featuring different businesses.**

The City of Highwood, Highwood Chamber of Commerce and Celebrate Highwood just launched a fun and engaging app this week called "Highwood Virtual Trivia Tour." The concept behind the app is to celebrate the unique businesses of Highwood highlighting interesting facts and history while encouraging support for local businesses now and beyond.

The Highwood Virtual Trivia Tour will have two installments for now April 20-May 1 highlighting the first set of Highwood businesses. May 4-15 will highlight another round of Highwood businesses. Each trivia tour consists of over a dozen engaging questions about interesting elements of Highwood businesses. I have started the current tour and already have a new appreciation of Highwood businesses and learned some interesting tidbits! When you finish the tour, you will receive a downloadable goodie bag of discounts and offers. I am ready to go check out some new-to-me businesses!

“Highwood prides itself on bringing communities together to CELEBRATE with our events and unique businesses that make Highwood such a destination,” says Charlie Pecaro, Highwood Mayor. “While we’re all working to adapt to current times, we must support our small businesses that are the heart of our community, while we strive to continue to deliver the fun in 2020. We are in this together.”

What a great way to celebrate Highwood during Stay in Place!

I did ask Tali Faris-Hylen of Ripple Public Relations a few questions about the initiative. She informed me that the idea for the tour was the result of a brainstorm between City of Highwood, Highwood Chamber of Commerce and Celebrate Highwood. She explains: "The community is so strong and supportive and they just wanted to go above and beyond to continue to engage followers and help businesses!"

I learned that this initiative will continue through the time of the shelter in place order and then will be used for other events throughout the year! Fun! Tali expresses: "Highwood is all about community, fun events, engaging people, bringing people together… and its also rich with history and time honored traditions.  When we are unable to be together in person, it’s a fun way to learn about our business while still supporting them too. Everyone loves little fun facts and we’re happy to offer a bit of “did you know…” conversation starters! "

I did download the app on my iPhone and found it easy to download. Immediately, I was engaged and ready to learn more about Highwood's businesses. It is amazing how many interesting stories live throughout businesses all around us! You will certainly have fun with this app and learn more about Highwood! For directions on downloading the app, head to Celebrate Highwood or download from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.  Then, hit Explore and choose Highwood Trivia Tour. The app is through Atlas Treasure Hunt. Fun! Fun! Fun! I love this innovative way to support local business!
