Invicto Taqueria in Vernon Hills, Illinois

Invicto: Tasty Tacos and More

After a little adventure in the Vernon Hills area, we stopped in Invicto for a few tacos. Tacos are absolutely one of my favorite things. I especially love places where I can try multiple types of tacos. So, visiting this local chain was a must!

I ordered a hongos (mushroom) taco and a pollo asada taco. My husband ordered a chorizo verde. He also ordered a Vampiro which consists of a crispy tortilla, guacamole salsa, salsa ranchero, onions, cilantro and your choice of filled. He choose fried avocado. So, he was truly spoiling himself! Pretty inventive combo! Overall, the concept of the tacos is to build-your-own. You choose the tortilla, filling and toppings. Plus, Invicto has a few fresh salsas to try. I do recommend ordering chips as well because you will enjoy experimenting with the salsas! I forgot and we had to go back. We loved our meal and are anxious to return!

Invicto does have a One Feeds Two program where if you purchase a meal, one is supplied to a school child in need! Nice! In our brief visit, we just scratched the surface at Invicto! Their Churro Shakes sound amazing -- Horchata (Cinnamon), Mexican Hot Chocolate, Tres Leches and more. Plus, their Papas Especiales with fries, queso, guacamole sauce, serrano sauce, cilantro and onion sound very tempting! We are looking forward to returning and trying some more items.
