Family Fun in the Chicago Suburbs July 28-31, 2022
The weekend is here! I took a little hiatus from my weekly list, but I am back! Here are some great events to be aware of for this summer weekend:

Ongoing Flourish: The Garden at 50, Chicago Botanic Garden celebrates 50 years, look for special art installations and yellow plants threaded throughout the garden, check for special pop-up events

May 21 - September 17 Butterfly House, Geneva, open 9AM-5PM Mon-Sat, 12PM-4PM Sun, recommended donation $2 pp and $6 per family
June 1 - October 31 Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, Alebrijes are Mexican folk art sculptures of fantastical creatures, learn about the artists, go on a scavenger hunt for all 48 pieces and more, parking is $10 per car
June 18 - August 14 Nature's Blueprints, Elmhurst Art Museum, an engaging exhibit highlighting nature's resourceful design, includes sensory stations, highlights how architecture uses elements learned from nature, see website for ticketing information
Through November 6 Delicate Forces, Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens, Rockford, 7 large scale are displays created with dichroic materials crafting kaleidoscope, admission fees apply

July 30 Green Bay Trail Day, 8AM-12PM. Shelton Park to Hubbard Woods, a variety of activities along the route including a ropes course, roving entertainers, butterfly hatchery, native plants and more, free
July 30 Wings and Talons Raptors, Teft's Farm in Lords Park Zoon, Elgin, 1PM-2PM, enjoy close ups with these majestic birds, free
July 30 Family Day Patterns and Nature, Elmhurst Art Museum, 1PM-4PM, use mid-century inspired fabrics to create patterns on canvas, kids free, adults $15 pp, $12 for seniors
July 30 Alebrije Art Walk, Cantigny, Wheaton, 2PM, a chance to learn about the amazing art pieces on a guided walk, $10 parking
July 30 German Beer Garden, Heritage Farm, Schaumburg, 4PM-7:30PM, backyard games, festive music, brats, pretzels, local craft beer, soda and more, $8 pp includes one food item and one beer or soda, other items for purchase, you can bring your own picnic, too
