Amaze 'N Apples and More Fall Family Fun at Royal Oak Farm Orchard

Capitalizing on some glorious warm and sunny weather, we headed out to Royal Oak Farm Orchard last weekend to take a whirl around Amaze 'N Apples, the first apple tree maze in the US. What family can resist a 1.5 mile maze where you can actually pick apples? Not this one!

Royal Oak Farm Orchard for an Apple Good Time

Last year, we discovered Royal Oak Farm Orchard in Harvard, Illinois. This farm is more than just picking--it is an experience! It really makes for a nice day trip with lots for the kids to do. (And, happy kids make for happy parents!)

First of all, depending on when you go to pick, you can also pick raspberries, blackberries and/or pumpkins. When we visited last year, we could pick raspberries along with the apples. Nice surprise! We took a pleasant ride into the orchards. The driver explained all of the apples to us, so it was easy to choose the ones best for us. Picking was fun and, while we could have had a ride back to the main area, we chose to walk to further enjoy the day.
