Sneaking away to Seasons 52 {a lunch out}

Sunday, June 23, 2013

**Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

During the school year, my husband and I sometimes have the ability to sneak in a lunch out while our daughter is in school. On one occasion, we visited Seasons 52 to try their flights and flatbreads deal. We had heard about it awhile ago and decided to indulge on my daughter's last day of school since it would be awhile before we could go out to lunch together sans mini me again.

The flights and flatbreads deal is actually pretty good. For $15, you receive your choice of flatbread, three tastes of wine and a glass of wine chosen from the three you tasted. The choice of flatbreads even includes their specialty flatbread for the season. The wines are chosen from a selection determined by the Master Sommelier.

I love flights because they allow you to sample a few wines. With this particular flight, you actually get to choose your favorite wine for a full glass. In a way, it is the best of both worlds--you get to try something new and stick with what you like at the same time.

The flatbreads at Seasons 52 are definitely substantial. However, since all menu items are 475 calories or less, you know you are not doing too much damage by enjoying one!

We had a pork flatbread that was special for the spring menu:

We also had the Ripe Plum Tomato Flatbread:

Not too bad for a little lunch out! The deal runs everyday until 6PM. So, you if you have a bit of time to sneak away with your significant other or even a friend, this is an affordable option!

Date Night Perfection: Seasons 52

Saturday, November 24, 2012

Last week, we were able to steal away for an evening. We opted to revisit one of our favorite restaurants, Seasons 52, for our night out. We love Seasons 52 because the menu is seasonally based, so it changes four times a year. This is exciting because you do not get tired of the options--there is always something new to try. Plus, they focus on the star foods of the season. This adds a little something special that separates Seasons 52 from other restaurants.

Being that we are in the midst of the holiday season and the gorging has begun, we were happy to know that our entrees at Seasons 52 would be lower than 475 calories. Add this to the freshness of each dish and it makes Seasons 52 the perfect choice for dinner out without adding to the heaviness of many things we may be eating in the weeks to come.

For dinner, I had the Caramelized Grilled Sea Scallops. The dish included asparagus and a sun-dried tomato-mushroom pearl pasta along with the scallops. I felt that the portions were perfect and I was actually surprised to find six scallops on my plate. The pasta was excellent--I could have eaten more (but shouldn't have!). The flavors were enhanced by a splash of lemon. The only real issue I had with the dish is that the asparagus was a little thick for my liking. Yes, we are asparagus snobs in my house and prefer the super-thin variety. However, the dish was excellent and I was glad that I ordered it!
