Introduction to DK Find Out and a Giveaway!!! {3/28/15}

**Disclosure: No compensation has been received for this post. DK has graciously supplied a tote for giveaway. All opinions are 100% my own.

If your kids are like my daughter, they probably often search the web for information on various topics of interest--whether it be for school or for pure enjoyment. In fact, they probably perform several searches as their sparks of interest lead them. As parents, we want to encourage the pursuit of knowledge. However, it is important that our children have a safe place to go. DK has launched a free online encyclopedia geared towards children ages 7-11 which is a great place for kids to explore their interests!

Besides being a place where kids can learn about topics from electricity to knights, the new DK Find Out  website also has quizzes, videos, fun facts and more! As an encyclopedia, DK Find Out will be constantly updating and adding new information. I love DK books and find that they provide a wealth of information, so I can imagine the the encyclopedia will also become a great source for kids.

I love the graphics on the website and find the diagrams very explanatory but simple enough to make deciphering easy.

I had my 9-year-old daughter take a spin around the website and this is what she thought:

"It's AWESOME! I learned all about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. I told my friend about it. I am going to use it some more later today!"

So, I would say that it has her stamp of approval! I was really surprised that she had already told one of her friends about the site--I thought that she was just giving it a spin for me. Big thumbs up to DK!

DK Find Out fits curriculum for children in this age group. The encyclopedia is constantly being updated, so the site will continue to improve. The website really brings alive those magnificent images and diagrams we love in DK books. The only issue I really had with the website is that there are a few topics that interest my daughter and myself that are not in there. However, they are most likely not in the age bracket's curriculum. As the website expands, it will contain more. The quality of the website is superb and you do not have to worry about your child searching on there as opposed to the internet itself.

To celebrate, DK is allowing us to give away a tote bag to one lucky reader! The giveaway is open to USA residents 18-years-old and older. The giveaway ends 3/28/15. Good luck!
