View of Tacoma from LeMay America's Car Museum

We kicked off our summer vacation with a visit to beautiful Tacoma, Washington! Nestled on Puget Sound, we uncovered a city affording picturesque views along with a wide variety of family activities. Two days exploring, investigating, wandering and tasting revealed some real treasures! This week I will be sharing our discoveries. We were simply wowed by the city and found it to be an ideal location for a family trip to Washington!

Picturesque waterfront view from Ruston Way Tacoma, Washington
We spent quite a bit of time absorbing the views along Ruston Way.
As a port city, Tacoma sports majestic water views. We enjoyed walking along Ruston Way reveling in a slice of tranquility. Nearby Five Mile Drive is incredibly scenic with many spectacular views. The wooded area includes a network of trails with resident wildlife. We did see two raccoons while on our drive! A drive along Five Mile Drive easily sweeps you away from the every day!

Tacoma boasts a Museum District including six attractions: Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, LeMay America's Car Museum, Tacoma Children's Museum and Foss Waterway Seaport. Our adventure included visits to the Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum and LeMay America's Car Museum. All of the museums are close together making for an easy, educational and entertaining day for families.
