Pizza is a perennial favorite of many families. However, often we find ourselves in a pizza rut choosing from the same few places time after time. We learned recently of a new pizzeria opening up in Highwood that features a walk-up display kitchen featuring three coal ovens. We were excited to try SLYCE Coal Fired Pizza Company for the first time last weekend. Winter is the perfect time to explore warm comfort food -- a great reason to try SLYCE on a January day!

Jerseys Pizza and Grill: A Delicious Find for Families Full of Surprises

Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Jerseys Pizza and Grill in Hoffman Estates to learn a little more about the establishment and their array of promotions that will certainly make families smile. Jerseys is a bit tucked away on Lakewood Blvd, slightly off of Barrington Road. The building does look pretty sleek compared to other restaurants and the overall layout of interior of the restaurant is just as nice and airy as the outside. Jerseys definitely was worth diverging off of Barrington Road for.


Jerseys does often get tagged as a sports bar and was in fact named Best Sports Bar in the Northwest Suburbs. Of course, you can see that the large and well-placed big screens truly make it the place to watch a game. However, we found the establishment to be a bit more polished than your average sports bar. Additionally, Jerseys has an ample menu that goes beyond standard bar fare and has many kids programs. When owner Gregg Majewski opened up Jersey's, he opened up with a family hangout in mind.  Indeed, we found Jersey's to be a fun place for a family meal!
