A Little Time and a Keyboard: Just Peachy Photography Review and Giveaway!

Just Peachy Photography Review and Giveaway!

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Recently, we had an opportunity to have a photo session done by Erika Williams of Just Peachy Photography. We both wrote a little something detailing our impressions about this wonderful experience!

Mel says:

Photo sessions with children can sometimes be enough to drive someone mad. I recall one specific session where my daughter decided to abruptly leave in a diva-like manner. When I first met Erika Williams of Just Peachy Photography, I knew things would be different. She had a very easy, gentle manner about her that I knew that the girls would immediately respond to.
Just Peachy Photography is a unique and welcome breath of fresh air to photography. Erika understands how to photograph children. She will set up sessions within 20 miles of Palatine, Illinois. This gives you a lot of flexibility and prevents having to hole your children up in little room. You are able to pick a location that is comfortable for your children and will provide one of a kind portrait opportunities. This flexibility really resonated with our children as they were not confined to a small space but were photographed while roaming North School Park. This allowed Erika to capture their true essence—their spirit!

Kat adds:

I recommend Erika of Just Peachy Photography, for several reasons.  For one, she brought professionalism and experience to the photo session, set in a park on a hot summer night. She had to wrangle two wiggly, high-energy little girls; and also deal with some unanticipated obstacles at the venue. Yet she chose settings that capitalized on the natural light and the surrounding foliage.  Just as crucially, she managed to pull authentic smiles and genuine expressions from the girls (my kid = the master of the fakey smile).  Not only did she never lose her patience - on the contrary, she seemed to enjoy the girls' revelry.  And the final results were outstanding. My favorite shot of my daughter captured her hopeful expression, complemented by a beautiful outdoor setting (the light streaming is beautiful; do they call it 'magic hour'?).  The picture could never be replicated in an indoor photo studio.  The pictures of the girls together are equally charming.

Some additional information:
Just Peachy has some amazing options! One that struck a chord with us is the ability to host a Portrait Play date Session. Let’s face it, sometimes it is hard to set up time for a formal portrait session. Erika’s novel concept of a portrait play date allows you to combine two functions—getting together with your friends while taking pictures. Sometimes, being with friends can help kids really open up with their sessions. Additionally, Erika provides several portrait package options for the play date at reduced rates!

Being her own business owner, Erika is able to provide tons of flexibility with the products that she provides. She can make holiday cards, invitations, custom mounted prints, custom collages, and a host of other portrait products. This girl is amazing!

The whole experience with Erika was wonderful! She is very approachable and especially responsive to questions and input. She has a way of catching a child's light which shows through her photography. She has set up an easy way for clients to go through the process--from setting up the session to viewing proofs in an internet gallery to receiving your prints. She is willing to work with you through out the whole process.

We are excited to announce that we are able to share a giveaway from Just Peachy Photography with our local followers! 6. I would love to have this mini session for my upcoming newborn during the holiday season. I am due very late Nov / early Dec and would love to be able to cherish the memories of that time. This is my first and it has definitely been an experience so far. Never really had anything normal in my life - never a real wedding, never a real anything -- this pregnancy MAY just be the most normal I have gotten...who knows? I tend to always become the guinea pig for things lol. :-)
