The 50-acre Mellody Farm Nature Preserve rests adjacent to the larger 514-acre Middlefork Savanna Preserve. Despite its small size, Mellody Farm Nature Preserve quickly envelopes visitors in a fantastic nature and history adventure.
Skokie River Nature Preserve welcomes wilderness lovers with over 4 miles of trails in Lake Forest, Illinois. The preserve includes woodlands, prairie, meadows, and wetlands. Plus, a number of bridges allow hikers to crisscross the Skokie River. One visit and you will be enamored!
Rock Out to Tunes and Witness the Heart of Air Guitar During Airness

Airness invited us to rock out along with a cast of unique and humorous yet touching characters. Settling into our seats to await the production, we noted that the set hearkened back to our younger years watching musical acts in small venues and pubs. Walls lined with posters of our favorite bands brought back memories and transported us for the evening to a world fun of frivolity, music, and heart.
Oriole Grove Forest Preserve in Lake County straddles the Lake Bluff - Lake Forest border following the Skokie River. The preserve does not have its own parking lot, so you must access it from either the Lake Bluff Openlands or Lake Forest Openlands parking lot. On our first visit, we entered through the Lake Bluff Openlands parking lot. We first wandered through the prairie before heading into the woodlands of the preserve.

Recently, I visited the center and left totally amazed with the incredible work done there. Equestrian Connection is one of those places where you can truly see and feel the heart of our community.
