A sunny fall morning brought us to Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area near Baraboo, Wisconsin. We spent the morning climbing rocks, crossing a meandering stream, admiring a deep gorge, discovering a waterfall, and standing in a rain of golden fall leaves. The preserve provided such a perfect fall memory.
A Series of Waterfalls at Dynjandi in Iceland's Westfjords Enchant
Exploring the Westfjords of Iceland ignited such a sense of wonder during our recent adventure. Traveling through the region, we savored spectacular view after spectacular view in raw nature. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical that Dynjandi Waterfall would blow us away because it is one of the best-known natural attractions of the Westfjords and I tend to love the lesser known. But, WOW -- our hike was INCREDIBLE!
Fall Run Park Treats with a Waterfall Near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Fall Run Park in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania is home to a delightful 25' waterfall close to Pittsburgh. Approaching the waterfall, wanderers enjoy a hike along a rambling creek full of rapids and mini-waterfalls. The hike on the edge of the creek to the waterfall captivates and crafts such a special nature adventure.
Buttermilk Fall Natural Area Captivates With a Waterfall Near Pittsburgh
Buttermilk Falls Natural Area in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania delighted us with a picturesque waterfall walk on our recent trip to Pittsburgh. We travel from Chicago to Pittsburgh at least once per year and have slowly been uncovering an interesting bevy of waterfalls along the route. We are constantly amazed by the uniqueness of each cascade that we have discovered and Buttermilk Falls dazzled just as much as the falls we explored on previous visits.
Splendid Nebraska Hiking Location at Platte River State Park
Platte River State Park in Louisville, Nebraska welcomes nature lovers to explore a variety of nature experiences including a slightly rolling hike to a waterfall as well as views of the Platte River. We spent a morning forest bathing on the trails of Platte River State Park and immediately discovered a remarkable preserve.
Meandering Along Duck Creek at Devils Glen Park in Bettendorf, Iowa

Devils Glen Park beckoned us to wander and scout for a waterfall! The first park established in Bettendorf, Iowa features limestone bluffs, woodlands, Duck Creek, a waterfall and plenty of green space. We spent a quiet Sunday morning wandering the paths of Devils Glen Park. While the waterfall is a star and worthy of adding as an Iowa waterfall trip, the entire preserve brought a calm only nature can to our morning.
